Summary/Abstract: In her groundbreaking study, Éva Somogyi has explored the emergence of the committee of joint matters (delegation) that was established for the monitoring of the common issues of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and the approval of the budget of the joint ministries; she also analysed the committee’s functioning in the context of the political and institutional history of the period. The present paper rather concentrates on the members of the Hungarian delegation who were elected by the Upper Chamber of the Hungarian parliament, exploring their social historical background. Alongside analysing the social and confessional background of the 234 members who were picked in the course of 46 elections, the paper also briefly presents the most important Upper Chamber members of the delegation.
