Summary/Abstract: The Arabic language is one of the rare languages globally, as well as among the Semitic language family, that, within the context of discussing grammatical number, encompasses the singular الإفراد) ) and plural ( الجمع ) but also recognizes the grammatical category of the dual التثنية) ). Both traditional and modern textbooks dedicated to this topic highlight the morphological transparency of the dual category through suffixes such as āni and ayni. They emphasize the complete agreement of words in the dual with what they refer to, yet significant changes in concordance at the level of number can align the dual with either the singular or plural. This phenomenon opens avenues for various interpretative potentials of words in the dual, introducing linguistic supernaturality that corresponds with the philosophy of the Arabic language. The Noble Qur’an itself abounds in numerous examples of the dual. While some of these examples adhere to established grammatical rules, a notable portion deviates from these rules, allowing room for diverse interpretations and analyses.
