Summary/Abstract: This article presents the activities of Captain Juliusz Wilczur-Garztecki, a former member of the Home Army counterintelligence and a collaborator of Military Information within the Polish Mili- tary Liquidation Mission in Rome in 1946. As a trusted officer of the then Head of the Second Department of Polish General Staff, Colonel Wacław Komar, he was to perform special tasks related to intelligence work, involving, among other things, collecting information on General Władysław Anders’s 2nd Corps, as well as carrying on surveillance of the then ambassador of the Provisional Government of National Unity to Rome, Stanisław Kot. Due to a conflict with the head of the Mis- sion, Colonel Kazimierz Sidor, he could not complete his intelligence assignments. The article mainly presents the dispute that ended with Garztecki’s dismissal from the mission in Rome and his premature return to the country.
