Summary/Abstract: Weather-forecasts can be ascribed to the journalistic style because it is the aim of journalism to present facts, to persuade the addressee and to put him / her in a certain frame of mind. However it would be impossible, to ascribe weather forecast to one particular sub-style or a certain concrete genre (for example, the bureaucratic rhetoric) because of its rich language means of expression, authorial intention as well as the peculiarities of the composition of the text. Theorists of journalism are not inclined to strictly define the limits of the genres. The common belief is that genres emerge, develop and disappear together with the society, thus they are dynamic and difficult to systematize. This kind of view gives creators of texts a free hand, allowing them to find their own ideal addressee, to put forward objectives and accordingly choose stylistic devices to implement those objectives. On top of this, Naglis Šulija educates readers, shapes their positive values and attitudes and helps protect the national cultural heritage.
