Semantic and etymological analysis of district and district names of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg

Summary/Abstract: This article presents a semantic analysis of the names of districts and districts of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. In the introductory part, the etymology of the name of the city of Hamburg will be presented. Subsequently, the history of the city’s founding and development was summarized, also based on the Greater Hamburg Act. In the research part, the names of districts and districts of the city were classified.
