The image of heaven in the Holy Scriptures and in the eyes of ordinary mortals

Summary/Abstract: This paper consists of two parts. In the first part the image of the heaven is discussedaccording to the dictionaries of Polish language and the Bible. The second part presents theresults of surveys on students and adults. Associations with the word heaven were analysedin two age groups. A detailed study is included in the second part of the paper. The resultsof the research were compared with book and biblical semantics.
