Summary/Abstract: This work explains in which measure the economic progress realized in Africa are not transformed into a sustainable human development. Especially, it treats the link between the structural transformation and the quality of the economic growth on one hand and the link between the quality of the economic growth and the sustainable human development on the other hand. The main results brought out of this work are among three. In the first place, the insufficient quality of the economic growth of the African countries can be understandable by the not implication of these countries in an effective process of structural transformation and which is capable of developing the manufacturing sector. Secondly, this insufficient quality of the economic growth weighed heavy on the realization to the sustainable human development. Thirdly, the realization of the sustainable human development in Africa requires the release of a process of structural transformation to improve the qualitative decent aspect of the economic growth in term of job creation and durability
