Nursing services in Poland − conditions and trend of changes

Summary/Abstract: Demographic phenomena, aiming to significantly increase the participation of older people in Polish society, even now determine discernible changes in the area of medical services, not only in our country. The aim of the study is to present conditions and trends occurring in the area of nursing services in Poland. The starting point is an analysis of the current legislation in this area and the current situation of Polish nurses on the labor market in the country and beyond its borders. To achieve this goal such aspects as demographic changes, changes in the health care system in Poland and the understanding of independency and professional autonomy in a group of Polish nurses, occupational mobility, career development and employment conditions in the healthcare sector in Poland and Europe are analyzed.
