THE INTERNET AS A TOOL AND ENVIRONMENT FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

Summary/Abstract: We operate in a globally connected world where Internet technologies are ubiquitous. The Internet is also a tool and environment on many levels, including for conducting scientific research. Digital competences are becoming key competences and necessary factors and attributes of conscious re- searchers. Such skills in academia were particularly evident during the COVID-19 pandemic. Par- adoxically, the pandemic has increased the need for universities to use technology to deliver courses. This immediate need for online learning and e-learning has revealed great potential and deficits in the proper use and uptake of digital technologies.Conducting research on the Internet is the management of the process of preparing research using the online network and the applications available on it. Starting from conceptualization and oper- ationalization as a conceptual basis in the study, through building research tools, acquiring data- bases of respondents and conducting the study itself, to analyzing and publishing its results.The article is an attempt to show the possibilities of digital transformation at the level of scientific research and to present the chosen environment of the Internet as the implementation of scientific research.
