Management of safety prevention in educational units

Summary/Abstract: Safety in educational units is constantly changing. It is one of the of the most important responsibilities for both leading authorities, principals or teachers especially in a period where the concept of security is permanently inscribed in the in the rhetoric of modern times. In the flurry of various disturbing events, incidents, acts of violence that take place on the premises of educational institutions, this promotion of prevention for safety seems inevitable. In order to change this, it is necessary to direct interactions to reformulate a new generation of security-oriented preventive interactions. The buildup of (new and “old”) social problems in terms of risky, problematic, deviant behavior, etc., requires detailed procedures and guidelines to protect them. Emerging new threats, as well as new approaches to preventive activities, require a change in the formula of programs and implementers, who include the school environment, which is the largest territory of preventive activities. However, the reality of the school does not always follow the challenges of modern prevention for safety in educational units. Indeed, unexpected,uncontrolled incidents translate directly into a low sense of security in schools.
