Summary/Abstract: Adoption is a significant form of family expansion and offers a chance for a stable family environment to children who, for various reasons, cannot be raised by their biological parents. The adoption process can involve a number of steps, including assessment and training of adoptive parents, obtaining the consent of the biological parents and of course the legal finalization of the adoption. The emotional aspect is essential both for the children and for the adoptive parents. Children may experience identity and attachment challenges, and adoptive parents must be prepared to provide support and create a trust and acceptance environment.
