Towards An Introduction to Seventy Years of History of "Ricerche slavistiche"

Summary/Abstract: This introductory article traces the history of the oldest Italian journal of Slavic Stud-ies still in operation. It starts with an overview of the main features of the journal’s history and of its scholarly aims and interests. The authors identify the main stages of the journal’s development, also reconstructing them through written testimonies such as letters and various mentions of its editors-in-chief and collaborators. There follow summaries and comments on the articles included in the monographic section, which are devoted to different thematic areas dealt with in the seventy years of the journal’s existence.
