Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to present a few aspects concerning the relationship between the Southern and South - Western part of the former roman province of Dacic and The Roman Empire between the 3rd and the 5th centuries, emphasizing the political and military aspects of the problem. The paper deals mostly with the presentation of the „fortress belt” of the Danubian limes and the steps made by the roman emperors-especially Constantine the Great - to enhance the defensive capabilities of the region.
