Summary/Abstract: In the present article, the theatrical discourse is approached from the perspective of the chronotope in the Bakhtinian sense, as interference, interaction of space and time, and their mutual complementation in the process of dramatic action. Based on the analysis of the dramaturgical text and of the theatrical discourse from this perspective, the contextuality of the writing, staging and reception of the drama “Doina” by Ion Druță in performances, staged in different periods by theaters in the country and abroad, are highlighted. The way of structuring and the valences of space-time at the level of image and creation of the atmosphere, of the manifestation of the artistic vision of the creative personality (playwright, director, actor, scenographer) are revealed, as well as the spiritual, identity, general-human meanings of this aspect of theatricality.
