Summary/Abstract: The universe of prose is meant to be a volume that goes around the world, it is not only a volume that analyzes and gives meanings to some works, but also penetrates into the biography of the authors, trying in this way, perhaps, to understand the author’s the style and language. Through this volume, like all his other volumes dedicated to prose, Nicolae Balotă tries to recover a lost time, the philosophy of Balotă's writing being a simple one, which he proposes with each of his publications: only through art and reading, you can understand the mentality of an era. It can be noticed the note of interdisciplinarity and intertextuality that Nicolae Balotă gives to the volume, his essays having references to visual arts, paintings, movies or even other texts. For the erudite, reading means not only the careful reading and analysis of some texts, but also the establishment of clear connections between them and other arts.
