Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to provide a genological description of Aleksander Janta-Połczyński’s travel reportages. Adopting a linguistic point of view of the genre, i.e. the perspective of linguistic genology, we examine the structural, pragmatic, cognitive and stylistic aspects of reportage. The source material includes the interwar travel reportages by Aleksander Janta-Połczyński. An analysis focused on the textualization of a travel reportage created by a particular author enables us to indicate which particular genre aspects of the studied texts coincide with the genre pattern, also with the genre pattern of the studied period, and which features point to the modification of the genre by an author. An analysis profiled in this way complements the picture of interwar travel writing examined from a genological perspective. It also contributes to a better understanding of the writings of Aleksander Janta-Połczyński, whose output has not as yet been fully studied.
