Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the ecclesiastical patronage of Klára Károlyi in Sânpaul and her role in the ecclesiastical life of the locality, extending the context to include other similar activities undertaken by her which aimed to strengthen the dominant position of the Roman Catholic Church on her estates (e.g. Gheorghieni, Baktalórán‑ tháza). It also examines which were her methods and who were those persons which served for her as model and helped her in achieving her objectives.
