Summary/Abstract: The article estimates Polish villagers’ spatial range of contacts in the eighteenth century. This phenomenon is presented on the example of the parish of Rzezawa, which in the analysed period included several villages located north-east of Bochnia. The analysis was conducted based on the books of metric records, land bequests and transactions. The analysis results suggest that the local communities’ geographical horizons were small. Most interactions occurred within the boundaries of the primary administrative and ownership units, such as the parish or the district office. Any contacts at much longer distances were exceptions, perhaps related to local elites’ social and economic activity.
