Summary/Abstract: Preeclampsia is a serious complication that occurs during pregnancy, most likely as a result of a certain disorder in the placenta, and poses a serious threat to reducing the blood flow from the mother to the fetus. According to certain studies, it occurs in 5-8% of all pregnancies. If this pathological condition is not detected in time and treated, it can pose a serious danger to the pregnant woman and the baby, leaving serious consequences on the liver, kidneys and other organs, and premature delivery is the most common end of pregnancy. Purpose: The aim of this paper is to determine the prevalence of high-risk pregnancies in patients with preeclampsia and the way of ending childbirth in the past three years. Materials and methods: The study was conducted at the University Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics in the period between 2020-2023. 224 patients with preeclampsia were included in the study. The obtained data are systematized, shown with tables and graphs. Results: During 2020, out of the total number of deliveries, which was 3680, 146 (3.96%) patients had a high-risk pregnancy. Of the 146 pregnancies with an increased risk, after processing the data, it was determined that 40 (27.4%) of them were preeclampsia, and of these, 24 of the pregnancies were completed by natural delivery, while 16 were completed by caesarean section. During the year 2021, out of the total number of deliveries 4009, the number of patients who had a high-risk pregnancy was 142. Of the 142 pregnancies with an increased risk, it was determined that 70 (49.3%) of them were preeclampsia and of them 53 of the pregnancies were completed by natural delivery, and 17 by caesarean section. During the year 2022, from the total number of births, which was 4218, 120 were at increased risk and of them 55 (45.8%) were with preeclampsia. Out of the total number of patients who were diagnosed with preeclampsia, 36 of the pregnancies ended with natural delivery, and 19 with the help of caesarean section. During the year 2023, out of the total number of deliveries, which was 3977, 128 patients had high-risk pregnancies, and 59 (46.0%) of them were preeclampsia. Of the total number of patients diagnosed with preeclampsia during their pregnancy, 39 of the pregnancies were completed by natural delivery, and 20 were completed by caesarean section. Conclusion: Preeclampsia is a pregnancy disorder that involves high blood pressure along with other symptoms, such as protein in the urine. Therefore, the activities that take care of the pregnant woman and the act of giving birth should be regulated by a special legislation that prescribes a minimum of activities on the part of medical personnel and on the part of society, but also on the part of the pregnant woman. Because of all this, the continuous care and nursing during this period should be at an enviable level by the nurse / technician. In women with gestational hypertension, complete control should be done in a secondary level facility by a healthcare professional trained in the management of hypertensive disorders.
