Summary/Abstract: Moral and aesthetic education is an important source of formation and correction of personal value orientations. Analysis of the historiography of the problem and penitentiary practice reveals con- tradictions: 1) between the spiritual and moral potential of art, the availability of rich pedagogical experience in the moral and aesthetic education of the individual and the underdevelopment of technologies for its implementation in prisons; 2) social expectations of high efficiency of the cor- rectional process and insufficient level of development of pedagogical competencies of the peniten- tiary system staff.Purpose of the study: to show the possibilities of using different types of art in the organization of the process of moral and aesthetic education in classes aimed at the development of professional and pedagogical competence of correctional officers in the paradigm of cultural pedagogy. In the process of work on the study a set of methods was used. Theoretical methods: historiographic analysis of available pedagogical research to describe the genesis of the problem and to identify examples of positive experience of using the possibilities of art application for the purposes of per- sonal education; predictive methods, namely modeling of educational activities. Empirical meth- ods: observational methods - included and unincluded pedagogical observation, pedagogical anal- ysis and scientific evaluation of the work experience of penitentiary teachers in order to highlight the principles and techniques of effective organization of moral and aesthetic education.Scientific novelty of the research is conditioned by the attempt from modern theoretical and meth- odological positions on the basis of the approach of integration of science and art to present a model of practical training for future lawyers, the purpose of which is the development of pedagog- ical competencies of moral and aesthetic education of convicts. The practical significance of the study is that the educational potential of the works of art presented in the model can be extrapolated to different categories of inmates and serve as a basis for the development of a holistic theory of spiritual and moral education of the individual in places of deprivation of liberty
