Summary/Abstract: The article presents the silhouette and artistic legacy of Janosch, and especially the works published in Poland, with particular emphasis on editorial and books knowledge aspects. It shows the versatility of his activities, not only as the author of the novels, but also a storyteller, poet, cartoonist, playwright and editor, and above all, a psychologistand philosopher. The overview of literary and artistic achievements of the artist has been grouped, clearly distinguishing his works aimed at adults and children, but also including sound documents, songs, books only illustrated by Janosch or edited by him. Chronological determinant was the first edition of the Janosch’s book in Poland in 1974. In this study the author analyzed the book works of this German-speaking novelist, published in Poland in years 1974–2014. In the analyzed period 45 editions of Janosch’s books were issued, among them works only illustrated by the artist and sound documents. The analysis was completed in 2014, when the last novel of Janosch was published on the domestic publishing market. The article is supplemented with a bibliography of Polish editions of books written by Horst Eckert, nickname Janosch.
