Summary/Abstract: The term ‘Enterprise 2.0’is a new and emerging term, proposing radical changes in the organization and its managerial culture, causedby the new applications and communication forms of the Internet. It is based in the principles of Web 2.0 which focus on collaboration, individual and organizational learning by building open and innovative processes within the enterprise, as well as withenterprise partners, clients and suppliers. This takes place by using new digital platforms to share, generate and filter information. Using Web 2.0 in the enterprise doesn’t only mean having to introduce a new TEChnology, but at the same time changing the way of work, organizational structures as well as the business processes and models of the enterprise. After an introduction in the terms ‘Web 2.0’ and ‘Enterprise 2.0’ in this paper we will evaluate statistically the results gathered from a cross-case content analysis of 52 case studies of enterprises which have adopted ‘Enterprise 2.0’ applications. Most of the analysed case studies were put online for research purposes. We will try to evaluate if there is a relationship between the business objective that an enterprise follows by adopting ‘Enterprise 2.0’ applications and the size of the enterprise as well as test for any relationship between the type of the application in use and enterprise size, being especially focused on managerial implications of adoption for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).
