Bishop Jerzy Mazur’s Contribution to the Animation and Missionary Formation of the Church in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The author of the article focuses on the theological and ecclesial view of missions ad gentes and the activities of Bishop Jerzy Mazur SVD in the Polish Episcopal Commission for Missions in 2011-2021. His commitment and multi- tude of pastoral initiatives contributed to renewing the missionary zeal of the Church in Poland. It also presents the vision of mission represented by Bishop Mazur, who promoted the conciliar view on understanding the issues of mis- sion. Discusses the role of the laity in the missionary work of the Church, the integration of missionary environments, the media and writing achievements of Jerzy Mazur, and the intellectual, spiritual and religious formation of people involved in missions.
