Polish youth magazines in the Free City of Gdansk

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the preserved titles of the Polish youth press publishing initiatives from the Free City of Gdansk, being a segment of local, Polish organizational press. Due to the incompletion of the series of these magazines, their qualitative and quantitative analysis has been done on a limited scale. The main task of the Gdansk Polish youth press was to inspire and uphold patriotism and to oppose the germainsation attempts of the Gdansk authorities. Meanwhile, the inter-editorial arguments, as well as insufficient thematic care from the inceptors of these publishings weakened the desired influence on the addressees – readers. Finally, the magazines took the form of chronicles and partially „diaries” of the organisational life of the Polish youth in the Free City of Gdansk.
