Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the activity of the Egmont Publishing, mainly in the sphere of magazines. The functioning of one of the most efficiently working today in Poland publishing companies handling books, magazines and comics for the youngest readers was studied. The study source materials included e.g. statistical data gathered based on the documents of the National Library. Also, a careful analysis was conducted of individual issues of Egmont’s magazines. The article proves, that the studied company largely specializes in producing children magazines, which it classifies into two kinds: magazines up to and above 6 years; much space in its offer is given to comics as well. A the same time it has been proven that the described publishing company is a leader on the Polish market in publishing licensed magazines, taking the readers e.g. into the world of Disney; which is why the cognitive value of these magazines was also deemed interesting.
