Summary/Abstract: Spa tourism is a nonconventional form of healthy tourism. Spa centers are often an integral element of health resort, and in majority are separate hotels. They run the whole year activity, which is important in the profitability of this field of tourism. The aim of this study is an indication of similarities and differences of selected spa hotels at the Polish- German border. The Sokal–Michener index is used. The obtained results show compliance in 73% for the complex equipment and services, 80% for the standard hotel room equipment, and 81% for a treatment offer. German spa hotels are better prepared. Polish specialists in the organization of health tourism try to catch up on disproportions between Polish and German spa hotels, and now the differences are not big. The element which positively influences the competitiveness of Polish spa hotels is their lower price than in German ones.
