Summary/Abstract: This article tends to analyze the Greek debt crisis, its causes and effects and the EU response on this issue. There is an ongoing debate on the ways of solving the Greek debt crisis and the impacts for Euro zone countries. We underline that the key approach to response to this issue is the EU solidarity with Greek state based on the same principle of solidarity which EU was created. The solidarity naturally implies the related financial cost and it will depend on how much the EU member states will stand and support this basic principle of European Union.
