Policies eficacity of Bank of Albania during Global Crises

Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses the measures taken by the Bank of Albania at the wake of the global financial crisis. The analysis will be conducted at two phases where a clear distinction is made between the financial panic that engulfed most of the economic agents in Albania and the subsequent fall in new credit in the Albanian economy. This paper argues that the Bank of Albania has been very successful in dealing with the public bank panic through its media communications and the support for the rise of the bank deposit insurance. However the latest data on the economy raises many other long term issues on how the Albanian economy will continue to perform. This I suggest should be leading concern for the central bank.
