Summary/Abstract: In 2004, survey research was conducted on a random sample of 167 users of the Main Library of the Cracow Pedagogical University. The aim of the research was to examine the needs and expectations of the Library users and to elicit their opinions on its resources. According to the respondents, the greatest advantage was the possibility to borrow books for the period of five months. However, there also appeared critical remarks, concerning insufficient number of computer terminals to order books, too short opening hours, especially on Saturdays, the necessity of more frequent updating of the Library resources, the need for increasing the number of the most popular volumes, and – particularly emphasized – the slow work of the Library computer system.
