Summary/Abstract: In this study we identified the interaction between the level of parental education and the level of development of social competences in preadolescents. For this purpose, the demographic questionnaire for parents was applied, which provided data on parental educational level, and the CASEL social emotional competence questionnaire for preadolescents. The research sample consists of 219 urban preadolescents, with an average age of ±14 years. The results revealed statistically significant differences in all dimensions of social competences of the CASEL questionnaire between preadolescents whose parents have a different parental educational level: with basic, medium education and those whose parents have higher education. The results highlight the role of parents as an essential model and guide in the development of children’s social competences up to puberty.
