Summary/Abstract: Conceived from the perspective of a reflexive scenario with therapeutic purpose, the essay dedicated to the drama of captive thinking in the society of the spectacle combines the imper sonal approach of the uninvolved observer with the personalized explorations of the involved observer. Unlike the uninvolved observer, for whom the phenomenon of captive thinking can be a „trivial evil” always met in the errors and limits of human being, the involved observer feels, by transposition into the situation, the captive thinking syndrome as a drama of thinking with serious consequences in personal and collective life. In this essay, the perception of the captive thinking phenomenon and the exploration of the captive thinking syndrome meet in the horizon of moral reflexion and of some small autobiographical narratives that bring before the eyes faces and symptoms of captive thinking from the society of the propaganda spectacle in Romania during and after communism.
