Summary/Abstract: The article provides an overview of advances in innovative technologies and materials, such as nanotechnologies and nanomaterials, as well as their use in forensic area. This review is focused on the different types of nanomaterials provided by current materials science, their characteristic, development and classification. It represents various forensic areas in which the application of nanomaterials and nanopolymers has been highly beneficial. In addition, it also focuses on the current challenges and perspectives of the development of nanotechnologies.
