Summary/Abstract: As technology continues to advance rapidly, it is crucial for society’s key stakeholders - policymakers, governmental organizations, business professionals, researchers, academics, and non-governmental organizations – to provide in-depth specialized awareness regarding security-related issues. To effectively address the impact of digitalization and develop tailored public policies, stakeholders must first fully comprehend novel technological challenges and the “Phygital” space. Nations need to recognize that this digital process involves society as a whole. As the digital evolution and revolution continue to expand, it has become synonymous with economic proficiency and digital disruption. The technological advancements and the emergence of disruptive technologies and digital ecosystems, like social media, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, Metaverse etc. present opportunities and challenges unlike any we have faced before in human history. Given these circumstances, it is important to reconsider whether cybersecurity fully encompasses digital changes and disruptions or if further research on “Phygital” security is necessary.
