THE USE OF AIR POWER AGAINST TERRORISM

Summary/Abstract: In a world characterised by complex geostrategic changes, emergence of a power vacuum in Asia and Africa, and spread of global computerisation, the scourge of terrorism has developed more than ever. Moreover, these terrorist actions began to manifest in the form of large-scale armed struggle, as it happened with the Islamic State group. In this context, the world’s states agreed to an international American-led response, in the form of the war on terror. An important role in supporting counterterrorism actions at global level is held by capabilities specific to air power.
