Summary/Abstract: The study aims to present a critical presentation of the key moments in which there were paradigm shifts towards the integration, consideration and reevaluation of the contribution of women artists to the definition of the conceptual and visual structure of the artistic avant-garde. This approach highlights those cultural and artistic areas that have undergone transformations due to the contribution of artists from the great artistic currents of the 20th century. The case studies referred to were selected based on the principle of representativeness, relevance and impact that individual artistic practices had on an artistic current, group or that generated new forms of artistic expression. The focus is on those artistic examples that transformed the world and the practices of the artistic avant-garde and that initiated a series of new approaches or decisive innovations within plastic thinking. Examples that are contextualized, analyzed starting from the general, socio-cultural framework of the period with the highlighting of those elements that can prove reminiscences that still operate in the contemporary artistic world.
