A new view on the definition of the term family

Summary/Abstract: Based on qualitative analysis, the contribution presents a range of views on the definition of the term family. In connection with social development, constant changes, the accelerating pace of life, the family is continuously developing. The fragmentation of the claims lies in the transformation of the family, especially in the diversification of its forms, the destabilization of relationships, as well as in its functioning, resistance, and fulfillment of functions. The contemporary postmodern family includes elements of the traditional and modern model, but its modern phenomena are the pluralization, tension and fragility of family relationships.
