Summary/Abstract: School success is one of the indicators of pupil's qualities, abilities, knowledge and skills. However, it has different understandings and definitions corresponding to the subjective plane of the term. The paper describes different understandings of school success, as well as several characteristics presenting in pupils belonging to the youngest and most modern generation – Alpha. At the same time, the paper presents research findings in the context of school success perception from the perspective of parents of younger age pupils (Generation Alpha). The results obtained through the focus group discussion method show that school success is not the same concept understood by the parents and its interpretations differ. The results include, in particular, performance-oriented characteristics (good grades, knowledge), but also social characteristics of a successful pupil. Different areas and different levels of school success are also part of the characteristics of a successful student in parental reflection.
