Legal, Canonical, and Administrative Implications of the Re-establishment of the Diocese of Vad, Feleac, and Cluj – A Historical Perspective on the Strengthening of Transylvanian Orthodoxy

Summary/Abstract: One of the greatest achievements for the Transylvanian Orthodoxy, and, of course, for the Romanian Orthodox Church, was the reestablishment of the Diocese of Vad, Feleac and Cluj, based on the grounds of historical forms of church organization in the area of Cluj. This reestablishment of the diocese brought major beneficial to the interest of the Church and its believers, and it had its juridical and canonical implications for a proper organization of church life and for strengthening relationships with the other diocesan centres from the country. This study aims to treat, in a historical manner, some of these implications and also it tries reveal the benefits of the reestablishment.
