Summary/Abstract: The present study includes references regarding the activity of the Romanian Orthodox Church at inter-orthodox and inter-christian level. The ecumenical dialogue is the one that fully add together the aspects of the ecumenical movement, the Ecumenical Council of Churches and all forms of dialogue organization (Commissions, groups, structures and under structures). The patriarchs of the Romanian Orthodox Church are the ones who, with the evolution of the Church, have also enhanced the ecumenical dialogue by shading in the both internally and externally. We will see throughout the study that, from Eastern to Western directions, the dialogue was used for closeness and unity, for the renewal of lost relations from political cases, but not only. Through out the paper we will find various references to the idea of ecumenism and evolution of this concept within the Romanian Orthodox Church and the entire christian world.
