Summary/Abstract: Economic potential is one of the factors influencing economic development. The deepening disparities in the level of socio-economic development of Polish provinces and the unevenly distributed opportunities and challenges arising from globalization processes, European integration or the impact of demographic processes make the role of regional policy and the identification of the economic potential of the provinces particularly important issues. The article aims to present the economic potential of provinces in Poland. It is an attempt to answer the following questions: what is the economic potential of Polish voivodeships? Is there a differentiation of the economic potential of the voivodeships? Are the voivodeships divided into agglomerations that represent economic potential and peripheral areas? The economic potential of Polish voivodeships in 2010 and 2020 was examined. The selected research period provides reference points to assess the economic potential of the voivodeships. The study covers the first and last year of the National Strategy for Regional Development in Poland 2010-2020: Regions, Cities, Rural Areas (NSRD), which allows simultaneous verification of the effectiveness of the changes introduced under the NSRD.
