Suffering and Hope in the Anthropocene

Summary/Abstract: The text is about how the notion of radical hope as an orientation in a situation when everything seems hopeless is revealed from the perception of suffering that is embedded in human nature and which flooded the planet during the Anthropocene. The ontological human vulnerability and the increasingly obvious finality of the hitherto known world, dominated by power relations and conflicts, suggests a consideration of the concept of radical hope. Despite the paradoxical nature of hope for something that does not have a definite subject, and that by the nature of its concept remains indefinite, man needs hope as an incentive for an existential turn. The search for such a turn can be deeply inspired by the thought of Soren Kierkegaard.
