CHARACTERISTIC ELEMENTS OF CHILDREN'S VISUAL ACTIVITY IN THE PAINTING OF MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY ART

Summary/Abstract: A number of artists, representatives of modern and contemporary art discover the mysterious, fantasy world of children's drawings, transforming it in a unique way in their works. Others direct their attention to primitive and folk creativity from different cultures and traditions, whose immediacy and decorativeness, according to them, has an external similarity with some features of children's creativity. Prominent artists of that time collected children's drawings, were both artists and teachers, closely observed the inner world of children and brought elements of childhood – naivety into their paintings. Thus, in the context of the development of new trends in art, the interest in the spontaneity and immediate expressiveness of children's drawings reveals new horizons in the stylistics of artists of the New Age.
