THE NEED TO ADAPT THE LAND FORCES LARGE TACTICAL UNITS IN THE CONTEXT OF THE CURRENT SECURITY ENVIRONMENT

Summary/Abstract: The geopolitical and geostrategic environment, the emerging technologies, as well as the financial constraints are factors that influence the evolution at the land forces level, in general, and at the tactical level, in particular. The current security environment calls for modern, deployable and interoperable forces, able to operate in a different context of expanded training and education, as well as for better use of new equipment and technologies. In this context, the paper addresses the impact of the aforementioned elements on the evolution of the brigade level tactical units in terms of organisational, functional, and training opportunities.
