Summary/Abstract: Lands and enterprises where agricultural production takes place in Turkey, as in the rest of the world, are resources that have a very important place in meeting nutritional needs. The products grown on these lands are vital food sources for humans and animals. Agricultural lands in Turkey have been divided for many different reasons over the years, their geometry has been distorted, they have become partitioned and production has become impossible. Agricultural lands, heritage distribution, natural disasters, various zoning and urbanization activities, road and dam construction works, irrigation canal construction, etc. It has been constantly divided and partitioned into many parcels for various reasons such as. In this study, the partitioning of agricultural lands and its effects were examined. 5 neighbourhoods of Yakakent district, which is one of the newest neighbourhoods in the cadastral survey, were selected as the application area. The partitioning of agricultural lands was examined in detail. There are generally small businesses in Samsun province. There are a total of 942 neighbourhoods in Samsun province and 17 neighbourhoods in Yakakent district. In this study, in Yakakent district; Land partitioning and business structures in the neighbourhoods of Büyük Kırık, Kayalı, Yeşilmahalle, Sarıgöl and Gündüzlü were examined. Of the 6308 parcels examined in a total area of 1651 hectares in these neighbourhoods, it was observed that 32.1% were smaller than 1 decare, 86.8% of the total parcels were smaller than 5 decares, and 3.3% were larger than 10 decares. This shows that there are enterprises in the study area with very small parcel areas and a high number of parcels. It has been determined that due to these small parcels, lands that actually have the potential to yield much more productivity cannot be utilized properly. It was observed that most parcels were left empty due to their small surface area and geometric deformities. It has also been determined that not using modern agricultural techniques and machines reduces productivity. As a result, the partitioning of agricultural lands not only reduces productivity in agriculture, but also negatively affects the living conditions of people who make their living by farming. Against this situation, it is of great importance to provide agricultural incentives, to support farmers engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry, and to carry out land consolidation to bring together and unify currently partitioned lands.
