Summary/Abstract: Türkiye, II. After World War II, it took steps to formalize its pluralist understanding of politics. In this context, various political parties were established, and one of them, the Democratic Party (DP), founded by members of the former Republican People's Party (CHP), came to power in 1950. The media also played an important role during the DP's ten-year rule. The transition to the multi-party era and democratic atmosphere in Turkey has also manifested itself in the press. Especially in Erzurum, the period when periodicals were most intense was during this period. Although the 1960 coup slowed down this development to a certain extent, Hürsöz Newspaper, which started its publication life in 1955, managed to continue its publication life despite experiencing two coups and a memorandum period. The founder of Hürsöz Newspaper, which has been published in Erzurum for approximately 35 years, is Ahmet Polat. The reason for choosing the Erzurum example is that, as a result of the Constitutional Referendum of 9 July 1961, which was the first reflection of voter behavior after 27 May, the voting preference of the people of Erzurum was determined as "Yes" with 58.99% of the votes. However, it was chosen as an example because it was a city that previously supported the Democratic Party with 58.7% in the 1950 elections, 58.8% in the 1954 elections and 50.2% in the 1957 elections.
