Summary/Abstract: In the Oriental Archive Collection (OAC) and in some of the settlement funds of the Oriental Collections department part of the “Preservation of the Manuscript-Documentary Heritage” division, National Library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” are preserved documents of the official Ottoman government, which bear witness to the direct impact of Botev’s revolutionary activity, the preparation and organization of the Chetnik movement and the implementation of some of the key moves and actions in it. The documentary array that we have selected under the „Heritage of BG” project includes 283 documents in 220 archive units in the Ottoman Turkish language from the fund of the “Oriental Collections” department of the National Library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”, included in the archive collection of the OAC and the settlement funds of Vidin, Lom, Berkovitsa, Ruse and Tarnovo. Within the framework of the project: „Creation of an innovative environment for access to the literary and documentary heritage related to Hristo Botev in the National Library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” was the first step towards the opening of the collections in the digital space and their overall positioning in thematic-chronological order. Telegrams and reports of the official Ottoman authorities found their place alongside documentary evidence in Bulgarian and other languages, publications in the Renaissance periodical press, etc. and restored elements of the historical puzzle of Bulgaria.
