Summary/Abstract: This article deals with the importance of lifelong education for individual development. Although lifelong education is one of the basic development concepts of the European Union and the Republic of Croatia, emphasized in numerous documents and laws, the people, students, employed, unemployed and elderly, who have to accept this concept, are crucial for the realization of this policy. By analyzing the problems and challenges and the research conducted, the article emphasizes the importance of lifelong education and its impact on both the individual and the economy.
