Summary/Abstract: In this article, we aim to highlight the undeniable connection between the famous Kazuo Ishiguro and the protagonists of the second tale of his Nocturnes: Five Stories of Music and Nightfall, entitled Come Rain or Come Shine, as a result of the influence that jazz music has regardless of the temporal or spatial environment. The characters experience a different type of emotional involvement: an auditory dominance that conveys emotions through lyrics or songs relevant to their youth. The affective contents of both the past and present reveal the protagonists' enjoyment of life and their passion for music and love.
