“I am writing on behalf of the residents...”. Daily Life in the Province of Leszno in the Letters Published in “Panorama Leszczyńska” 1980–1989

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present main elements of everyday life of the population living in the territory of the Leszno Voivodeship in 1980–1989. The sources are readers’ letters published in the voivodeship weekly “Panorama Leszczyńska”. They show the economic crisis (in particular the social-living problems appearing as its result), society’s attitude towards local authorities and trade workers. They also draw a picture of the problems of socialist society: waste, alcoholism, disrespect for common property, poor work ethos.
