Summary/Abstract: We often encounter discourses impregnated with elements of science (scientific jargon, scholarly explanations, etc.); scientific statements seem to burst into all social strata. However, this irruption requires a relay, not to say a mediator, to explain scientific data still unknown for a neophyte public. This is why we have been interested in the electronic print media that popularize this scientific data. Thus the electronic press will play the role of popularizer and facilitator of these data by mobilizing a speech at the same time clear, precise and intelligible while preserving its objectivity; hence our contribution to explore scientific discursive mechanisms in the electronic written press, including the process of popularizing scientific content to a wide audience. Our task is therefore to verify the use of discourse as an extension strategy in scientific articles in the electronic press. It is all about showing how popularization creates a disproportionate presence of the journalist in his speech. This presence translates into reported speeches and explanatory statements in the form of presence – paratopical – as a popularization process.
